Memetik laporan The Seoul Times, mereka mengesahkan berita tersebut merupakan fakta apabila menerima beberapa keping gambar yang menunjukkan embrio dan janin bayi dijadikan sup sebagai hidangan kepada manusia. Wilayah selatan Canton, Guangdong menjadi fokus utama apabila penduduk di sana menikmati sup herba bayi atas alasan ingin meningkatkan tahap kesihatan serta bertenaga sewaktu mengadakan hubungan seks. Kali ini, sepasang suami isteri yang telah mempunyai dua orang anak gadis sanggup untuk menggugurkan kandungan berusia 5 bulan kerana mengetahui kandungan kali ketiga itu juga adalah perempuan. Menurut sumber, bayi yang hampir dilahirkan dan mati secara semula jadi mencecah ¥2000. Manakala janin yang digugurkan pula berharga ratusan Yuan. Menurut wartawan tempatan, isu tersebut semakin serius apabila penduduk China amat mementingkan kesihatan serta pengaktifan polisi seorang anak dalam sebuah keluarga. Bukan itu sahaja, The Next Magazine, sebuah majalah mingguan terbitan Hong Kong mendedahkan, janin dianggap satu makanan tambahan kesihatan dan kecantikan terbaru di China. Tambah mengejutkan apabila sumber memberitahu anggota badan manusia juga boleh dibeli di hospital. Dalam temubual The Next Magazine dengan salah seorang ahli perniagaan Taiwan, Ms Liu, tujuan dia mengambil 'makanan' tersebut kerana atas kesedaran untuk meningkatkan tahap kualiti kesihatannya. Tambah Liu, walaupun janin manusia mampu dibeli oleh ramai orang, namun, masih ada senarai menunggu 'waiting list' yang demi mendapatkan janin yang berkualiti.Menurutnya lagi, janin yang berkualiti adalah janin yang lebih matang serta janin bayi lelaki dimana ia disifatkan sebagai 'prime human part'. Bukan itu sahaja, terdapat juga beberapa kes penyeludupan bayi di China yang berkemungkinan besar dijadikan sebagai sumber makanan kesihatan kepada mereka. Pihak polis juga pernah menjumpai mayat bayi di dalam sebuah tong sampah yang mengandungi dua badan, empat tangan, dan enam kaki. Mengikut laporan siasatan, anggota badan mayat itu masih lagi baru dan dipercayai diceraikan selepas dimasak. Kenapa ada segelintir golongan manusia yang sanggup melakukan sebegitu tanpa rasa bersalah?Selepas berlakunya Revolusi Budaya Mao, tahap kemanusiaan serta moral dalam kalangan penduduk di China semakin menurun.
